Description
The dovecote at Rhuallt Hall is a square structure measuring approximately 5 meters by 5 meters and standing about 6 meters to the eaves, featuring gables on the east and west sides. The roof is missing, and the stone walls are constructed from local slatey rubble, with a thickness of about 800 millimeters. The openings are framed by one-brick segmental arches, and brickwork is used irregularly to form the jambs of these openings. There is a string course at the base of each gable, while the stonework is otherwise plain.
The west wall has a door opening, and there is another door that has been blocked in the east wall. Ventilation slits are present at the bottom of both the east and west walls, and there may be a doorway at first floor level on the north side. Small square flight openings are located on three sides, with larger square openings at the base of each gable.
Inside, the pigeon boxes are made of brickwork and include alighting shelves for each row. There are sets of holes in the gable masonry and additional holes below the eaves on all four sides.
