Description
The Former Butter Market, now known as Bragdy Brewery, is a long single-storey building topped by a modern block of two additional storeys. It is constructed of rubble with a limestone ashlar facade sitting on a chamfered, ashlared plinth. The facade is symmetrical, featuring a central entrance bay that projects forward, flanked by three windows on each side. The entrance has a Tudor-arched design with stopped-chamfered edges and original double doors that are studded with nails. Above the entrance, there is a pointed-arched relief panel made of sandstone, showcasing the sculpted arms of the town of Denbigh, along with a relief-carved scroll in gothic lettering that reads "Denbigh Borough Markets." The building also features two-light sandstone mullioned windows with chamfered jambs and canted sills, all topped with a continuous drip mould. A lead-coped parapet is raised over the center of the building. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
