Description
The Old Manor, also known as Dyserth Care Hotel, is a two-storey building featuring a three-window range at each end, with a slightly higher single-window cross-wing added to create a symmetrical appearance. The exterior is roughcast with low-pitch slate roofs and modern red brick chimneys. The verges and eaves of the cross ranges are boxed in. A large sunroom has been added to the front, covering the main door position, which has been removed.
The upper windows of the original range have 16 panes in altered sashes, and there is a sill band present. The lower windows consist of unequal modern pseudo-sashes.
The right cross-wing features a cast-iron balcony at the upper front window, supported by thin iron columns, and includes a glazed balcony door in a wider opening. There is also a single-storey lean-to addition on the right side.
At the rear, there is a two-storey lean-to on the flank, which faces north and displays two inscribed stones detailing the history of the house. Additionally, there is a large central two-storey rear wing with four-pane sash windows above and modern fenestration below.
Inside, there is a close string staircase in the front lobby with plain newels. Good hob grates with original stone mantels were noted during an earlier listing inspection, but could not be verified in 2001. The original servants' stairs are located in the rear wing.
