Description
Tyddyn-isaf is a 2-storey, 3-window farmhouse that faces south towards a lawn and garden, with its back to the farmyard. The building is constructed from axe-dressed local limestone that is informally coursed, and it features a slate roof with generous overhangs at the eaves and verges, along with stone end-chimneys.
The left bay of the front elevation is gabled and slightly advanced. It has sixteen-pane hornless sash-windows both above and below, which have exposed frames and stone lintels, along with flush stone sills. There is one similar window above and below on the rear elevation, and a glazed conservatory is located at the main door.
Incorporated into the rear wing of the older house, which faces east towards a small walled yard, the structure has a considerably lower roof level. This wing consists of two bays of white-painted rough stonework and a later northern bay of brickwork, topped with a slate roof. A brick chimney is positioned where it meets the new building, and there are modern replacement windows and a small modern porch.
To the west of the rear wing, a salt room from the farmyard has been integrated into the house.
