Description
The churchyard wall of St Margaret's is a very low structure made of local limestone, featuring a moulded coping. It surrounds the churchyard and has stone gatepiers at the main entrance located at the southwest corner. There is a flight of steps leading to a gate that provides access to the vicarage at the northwest corner. On the south side, the churchyard is level with the pavement of the road. The west side has an adjacent field with a ditch against the wall, creating a ha-ha on that side only. In other areas, the land surrounding the churchyard is at a lower level. The main gatepiers at the southwest corner are tall stone structures with chamfered arrises and gabled copings, and they support timber gates.
