Description
Belmont is a building originally constructed as a house, likely dating back to the late medieval period, though it has undergone significant alterations or rebuilding. Its gable orientation facing the street and the plan form, which includes a large projecting lateral stack, indicate its early origins. Most of the external features of the house, however, are from the early 19th century or later. The exterior is rendered, likely over stone, and topped with a slate roof. It has axial, side, and end-wall stacks. There is a doorway in an added lean-to porch to the right of the stack on the west elevation, along with two 16-pane sash windows on each floor to the right of the porch. The gable wall facing the street has renewed or inserted casement windows.
