Description
Bryngwyn-mawr Farmhouse is a 17th-century, three-storey stone farmhouse featuring three windows and a prominent plinth. It has a large projecting chimney on the north side. The near-flush-frame sash windows have mostly lost their glazing bars. The entrance door is studded and has an obtuse-angled head with decorative spandrils and stopped moulded jambs, located at the back of a formerly recessed porch that once had mullion windows, which are now filled in. Above the entrance is a moulded sunk-panelled square stone tablet that shows signs of decay.
Inside, there is lozenge paving and stopped bevelled beams. The farmhouse has a wide boarded door with old strap hinges, and the wide fireplaces have been filled in. A staircase is located in the north gabled projection and features heavy turned balusters, a narrow moulded rail, and heavy square newels. The first floor retains old flooring and includes an arched fireplace. The overall condition of the farmhouse is good.
