Description
Henblas is a two-storey building of mixed dates, situated on a corner plot fronting onto Bridge Street and Chapel Street. The building exhibits pebbledash elevations on both street frontages, with gables above the upper windows. It has a tall slate roof and a tall brick chimney stack to the right.
The Bridge Street frontage features two gables, with small-paned casement windows. Two shop fronts are present to the left; the right-hand one has a dentil cornice and incorporates a blocked-up doorway. Modern windows and a recessed door provide access to Henblas on the right. The corner of the building is partly splayed.
The Chapel Street frontage displays three gables; the outer ones have windows similar to those on Bridge Street, while the central gable is smaller. An undulating slate roof and a central chimney stack are visible. A 16-pane sash window is located on the ground floor of Tregarth to the left, with a four-pane window with a cornice in the centre, and a late Georgian shop front to the right, featuring pilasters flanking the window and door. A broad gable end facing southwest features casement windows, a swept roof dormer to the rear, and a half-glazed door beneath a lean-to hood supported by reeded iron columns.
The interior of Tregarth includes deeply chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and a timber lintel over a modernised inglenook. Some doors feature roughly fielded panels.
