Description
40 Station Road is a one and a half storey former house built from local rubble with painted freestone dressings and a slate roof. The street-facing elevation features three bays and a shallow plinth. The central bay is slightly advanced and has a gable adorned with scalloped bargeboards. It contains a two-light mullioned window with a stone lintel and a stone sill set at eaves level. Below this window is a square-headed doorway with a deep lintel and a drip mould. On the upper floor, each side of the central bay has a gabled dormer with scalloped bargeboards and a two-light mullioned window, similar to the central window. On the ground floor, each bay features a three-light mullioned window with a deep chamfered stone lintel, a drip mould, and a stone sill. The gable ends also have scalloped bargeboards, and the projecting chimney breasts each have three tall stone stacks set diagonally.
