Description

The Sexton's House is a one and a half storey cottage with an L-shaped plan, built from roughly coursed squared rubble with freestone dressings and slate roofs. The entrance elevation faces north towards the street. The central bay is slightly advanced and features a coped gable with stepped kneelers. It has a two-light mullioned window with a heavy stone lintel and dripmould, and a stone sill positioned at the eaves. Below this window is a square-headed doorway framed in pale freestone. On either side of the central bay, there are three-light mullioned windows, although the right window is blocked. These windows also have heavy stone lintels with dripmoulds and stone sills.

The east gable end has freestone coping and stepped kneelers, along with a rectangular stone chimney stack topped with a cornice. It features a two-light window similar to those on the first floor. Facing the churchyard, the gable end has a coped gable with stepped kneelers, a two-light attic window, and a heraldic shield above it. The ground floor has a three-light window matching the front. To the right of the gable, there is a tall rectangular stone chimney stack with a cornice. In the rear wing, there is a single ground floor two-light window that matches the attic windows. The rear gable end is coped with stepped kneelers and has a two-light attic window similar to the front.
