Description

The Old Library is a three-storey building with a rendered front featuring raised banding and lugged architraves around the windows, topped by a slate roof. The south elevation has two windows on each of the upper floors, with the second-floor windows positioned at the eaves. The building has a rounded corner, while the east elevation also has two windows on each upper floor, with the second-floor windows again set at the eaves. On the ground floor, there is a narrow window on the right side with a blocked door. The ground floor includes a later 19th-century shopfront, with a door set back at the corner (featuring an overlight above) and two windows on each side. The ends of the fascia board are decorated with volutes and end pilasters.
