Description
Twt Hill Farmhouse, which includes an attached barn, features a high lofted barn constructed from rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. On the south wall, there is a wagon bay to the right of center that has a timber lintel inscribed with 'W HI 1673'. To the right of this bay are two tiers of three ventilation strips, although the lower tier is blocked. On the left side, there is a blocked window and doorway, along with a blocked 19th-century doorway and window leading to the loft. The gable ends have stepped vents; the west end (downhill) has a blocked window and a small added lean-to.
The north side, which faces the former farmyard, features a wagon bay to the left of center that has been infilled with rubble stone and includes a small-pane window. To the right of this bay are two small inserted windows, with ventilation strips arranged in two tiers similar to those on the south side.
On the right side, there is a lower former farm range that is at right angles to the barn. This range is rendered and has a steep slate roof, with an added brick stack and a roughcast stack that has been partially rebuilt in brick. It has been converted into one-storey domestic accommodation, though all openings were boarded up at the time of the survey. From the left end, there is a window that has been converted from a door, followed by three windows, a door, two more windows, and another door. At the right end of the range is a 19th-century two-storey double-fronted house with pebble-dashed walls and a slate roof, featuring a pebble-dashed left-hand stack and a rebuilt small stone right-hand stack. The house has a central boarded door and modern four-pane horned sash windows in 19th-century openings, except for a larger six-pane sash window on the lower right. The rear of the house has four-pane sashes, and the farm range has openings that are boarded up.
