Description
The HSBC building is a bank that features three storeys plus an attic. It has a hipped slate roof with three gabled dormers on both Mostyn Street and Lloyd Street. The upper floors are finished in stucco with quoins, while the bank front is made of Portland stone.
On the Mostyn Street elevation, the second floor has three round-headed sash windows with architraves that include keystones, and there is a string course at sill level. The first floor features two Venetian windows with small-pane casement glazing.
On the Lloyd Street elevation, the second floor has a central round-headed sash window with an architrave and keystones, flanked by windows with three lights in a similar style. The first floor includes a Venetian window to the left, a central window with a triangular pediment, and a canted bay window, all with small-pane casement glazing.
The ground floor has a 20th-century bank front with channelled stone. On Mostyn Street, there is a round-headed doorway to the right and three windows to the left. On Lloyd Street, there is a similar round-headed doorway, now glazed, along with three windows and a lower square-headed doorway with an oculus above.
