Description
St Peter's Church is a Grade II listed building featuring a tower, nave, and chancel constructed from grey-brown stone, with bathstone dressings, and slate roofs. The west tower has stepped crenellations and diagonal buttresses, with lancet windows at the bell stage and small trefoil windows at the lower stage, along with a small rose window to the west and a clock. There is a south tower doorway. The nave consists of four bays with stepped buttresses and 2-light windows that have wooden cusped tracery. The lower chancel has a small south window, while the east window is designed in the Decorated Style. There are vestries and an organ chamber to the north.
The rear churchyard wall features an arched entrance with stepped castellations above. Access to the church is through the south doorway of the tower, leading to a lobby with steps to the left. The nave is aisleless, with rendered walls and a coved and ribbed plaster ceiling. There is an exposed stone arch leading to the chancel, which has brick walls that are painted over, and a broad stone arch leading to the organ chamber on the north side. The chancel features a hammer beam roof. Notably, the east window contains good glass from 1872, dedicated in memory of Maria Jane Pugh of Craig-y-Don, Aberdyfi.
