Description

Hen Bont is a late 18th century or early 19th century bridge that carries the old road, which predates Telford's A5. The bridge features a single span made of rubble, with an arch located to the left of a structure that is approximately 35 meters long and 8 meters high, partly springing from the rock. It has a round-headed arch constructed with roughly-dressed voussoirs beneath an arch-ring made of narrow stones. The carriageway is flat and wide, partly metalled, and is flanked by rubble parapets. These parapets include rocks set on end and embedded in the cement capping.
