Description

Dolgau is a two-storey farmhouse constructed from rubble masonry, featuring large stones at the base of the walls, as well as used for the quoins and lintels. The farmhouse has a slate roof with stone copings on rough stone kneelers, and broad, rendered gable stacks that include dripstones and capping. The main elevation faces east towards the road and consists of a three-window arrangement, with the doorway offset to the right (north). The doorway has a segmental head made of radiating quoins. The windows have slate sills; the ground floor windows are modern timber casements with two lights, including a 12-paned window to the right of the door and a wide 20-pane window to the left. The first floor features unequal sashes with nine panes.

On the rear elevation, both ground and first floor windows are offset to the left (north). The ground floor window is a two-light casement, and there is a modern light set under the eaves above it. A similar window is located on the south gable return, offset to the left (west), positioned above a modern boarded door. The stonework between these two windows indicates an early opening that has since been blocked.

The interior was not inspected during the survey, but the original description from 1966 notes the presence of plank and muntin panelling and old ceiling beams. Additionally, the Merioneth domestic file mentions a fireplace with a timber bressumer and a possible blocked chimney stair.
