Description
Nant Madyn is a building constructed from rubble stonework and features an old slate roof. It has one storey and an attic, with two bays, where the living kitchen is located in the upper bay. The central entrance has a three-centred arch made of long irregular stone voussoirs, which is topped by a horizontal drip moulding. On either side of the entrance, there are uPVC six-pane windows in small openings with stone lintels, along with a small fire window next to the main stack. Above the entrance, there is a similar window set within a small stone-coped dormer, and each bay has a larger window, although their gables have been replaced with a cat-slide roof. The upper end of the house features a raised stone-coped gable that ends in a stone stack, while the stack at the lower end has been removed. The rear of the building has various irregularly placed windows, including a central stair window. An attached farm building at the lower end has one large opening, and its walls appear to have been heightened to create a loft. There are external stone access steps at the gable end. The interior was not accessible at the time of inspection.
