Description
This is a multi-purpose farm building located on the northeast side of Hendre. It is constructed from roughly coursed field-stone and features a slate roof, which includes both old graded slates and some renewed sections.
On the south side, facing the house, the western section has double boarded doors that have been inserted, along with a blocked original doorway. To the right of this doorway, there is a full-height vertical joint that indicates two phases of construction for the building. Further to the right, the eastern section contains two windows and a loft doorway. The left gable end (west) features a boarded loading door.
At the rear of the building, facing the track to the north, there is a full-height doorway in the western section. The eastern section has an outshut that is covered by a catslide roof. Originally, the building had five open bays; however, three of these have been blocked and now feature round full-height piers, while the remaining two are open and have square piers. The eastern gable end includes an inserted opening beneath a steel lintel and a boarded loft door that leads into a small walled yard.
The building has not been inspected.
