Description

The Palm House, which includes the former Eagle House, is a single-storey building featuring a slate roof that is partly glazed. It has a dentilled cornice above tall windows on either side of the central entrance, which is flanked by paired 4-pane windows. The entrance is accessed through double doors. On the right gable end, there is a tall round-headed window that has been blocked with red brick, likely when the Eagle House was added. The left gable end features a high-level door and an opening at the base that leads into a sub-terranean storage chamber.

Inside the courtyard, there are two classical statues that have been relocated here, likely from the terrace, along with slate slabbed plant pots that were once used for growing palms.

The interior consists of a 3-bay layout with bolted trusses. The Eagle House originally included a cave and pool for an eagle.
