Erw Fair

Erw Fair is a group of five houses built in the 18th century, featuring two-storey fronts with one window each. Houses 1 and 2 are a reflected pair, while houses 1 and 4 have later attics. The buildings are constructed from ashlar masonry and include a parapet, cornice, band courses, and a plinth. They have a slate roof and rendered chimney stacks. The windowed bays slightly project, except for No 4, which has a three-window squared bay added that rises to include a tall, pedimented attic storey. The ground floor windows of this bay are arched-headed with keystones. Most windows are sash glazed, except for Nos 1 and 3, which feature Victorian casement windows with starburst coloured overlights. No 1 also includes a gabled attic with a pediment treatment. The houses have six-panel doors, with No 4 having a later part-glazed door and a stone porch with an arched entry. Late Georgian railings flank the stone steps leading up to the entrances, and there are coursed stone forecourt walls. A gated side passage is located to the right.
