Description
Nos. 1-5 Tai Baladeulyn is a roughly symmetrical terrace of 5 cottages dating from the mid-19th century, built in a loosely Picturesque style. The cottages are constructed from irregularly coursed rubble stone and slate-stone blocks, with a slate roof and two rendered ridge stacks. The design incorporates gables that project to the left, centre, and right, with the left gable being a single bay wide, while the others are two bays wide. All gables feature decorative bargeboards and finials. The front facade has a 10-window arrangement. Most windows are original 2-light casements with 5 horizontal glazing bars to each light, although some have been replaced in the 20th century. The attic windows are small horizontal sliding sashes. The entrances are recessed within the left and centre gables, and flush with the right-hand gable. Nos. 6 and 7, at the right-hand end of the terrace, have been significantly altered and are excluded from the listing. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
