Description
Nos. 1-5 Tai Baladeulyn is a roughly symmetrical terrace of five cottages built in the mid-19th century, designed in a loosely Picturesque style. The cottages are made of irregularly coursed rubblestone and slate-stone blocks, topped with a slate roof featuring two rendered ridge stacks. They are two storeys high, with attics in the projecting gables on the left, centre, and right. The left gable is a single bay wide, while the others are two bays wide, all adorned with decorative bargeboards and finials.
The front of the terrace has ten windows, primarily featuring original two-light casements with five horizontal glazing bars in each light, although some have been replaced in the 20th century. The attics contain small horizontal sliding sashes. The entrances are recessed in the left and centre gables, while the right gable has a flush entrance. It should be noted that Nos. 6-7 at the right-hand end of the terrace have been heavily altered and are not included in this listing. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
