Description
Nos. 1-5 Tai Baladeulyn is a roughly symmetrical terrace of five cottages built in the mid-19th century, designed in a loosely Picturesque style. The cottages are constructed from irregularly coursed rubblestone and slate-stone blocks, topped with a slate roof featuring two rendered ridge stacks. They are two storeys high with attics, and have projecting gables on the left, center, and right. The left gable is a single bay in width, while the others consist of two bays, all adorned with decorative bargeboards and finials.
The front of the terrace has ten windows, primarily original 2-light casements that each have five horizontal glazing bars, although some have been replaced in the 20th century. The attics feature small horizontal sliding sashes. The entrances are recessed in the left and center gables, while the right gable has a flush entrance. It is noted that Nos. 6-7 at the right-hand end of the terrace have been heavily altered and are not included in this listing. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
