Description
Bryn-y-meddyg is a two-storey building constructed of rubble stonework, with slate hanging on the upper floor at the front and sides, and a slate roof. The building features three bays, with a single bay rear wing on the left and a later porch added at the angle. The main front faces east across the valley and includes a central door that is panelled and part-glazed, topped with an overlight. On either side of the door are canted bay windows with 4-pane sashes, all set back under a timber lean-to verandah that spans the full facade. The porch has lattice timber sides beneath the verandah, and curved brackets rise from timber posts to support the hipped roof of the verandah. The upper floor contains three 4-pane sash windows, with similar windows on the end elevations. The northern end features framed lattice bargeboards in the distinctive Penrhyn Estate style, along with gable brick stacks.
