Description
Idris House is a three-storey building with a basement, constructed from coursed slate rubble and topped with a slate roof. The street-facing side features a two-storey, two-window frontage. On the ground floor, there is a tall timber shopfront that is symmetrical, featuring a central part-glazed door with an overlight, set back from large plate glass windows, each divided by glazing bars into four sections. Pilasters at both ends support a narrow entablature and a bracketed cornice with a scalloped lead drip. To the right, there is a four-panelled door with an overlight that leads to the first-floor dwelling. The first floor has two large four-pane horned sash windows and bracketed boxed eaves. The left-hand return elevation is set on a splay and has two similar windows on each floor, a central window in the attic, and two windows along with a door to the basement. The building also features a gable stack.
