Description
Ty Rardd is a 2-storey and attic house constructed from local rubble and topped with a slate roof featuring wide eaves and cement rendered clustered chimney stacks. The house has a cross-shaped plan, which has been modified by a later extension to the north. The main entrance was originally located to the south, where a blocked doorway is now visible. The front elevation consists of three bays, with the central bay projecting and gabled to the full-height attic storey. Each floor has a small-pane horizontally sliding sash window, characteristic of the Glynllifon estate during this period, along with another window on the right side of the ground floor. A modern window is located on the left, set above a single-storey lean-to.
The east elevation is cement rendered and features unusually heavy Tudor dripmoulds, with one small-pane sash window retained and otherwise modern windows. The west side includes a 4-pane horned sash window, and to the north, there is a single-storey extension that serves as the current entrance to the house. Inside, the simple estate cottage retains some panelled doors.
