Description

Ty'n-y-porth is a late 18th century building, likely constructed around 1750, and renovated in 1988. It is built of rubble stonework and is whitewashed, with a slate roof. The original structure is one storey and attic, with three bays. A boarded entrance door is centrally located and has an engraved slate panel above, indicating the building’s construction date and a 1988 refurbishment. Small paned casement windows are present in each bay, and the roof features three squat gabled dormer windows with matching casement windows. Tall gable stacks are a prominent feature.

At the rear, the building has a single-storey extension projecting at a right angle to the west. A further single-storey extension to the west includes a garage with a boarded door and a small circular light in the gable.

Internally, the original partitions have been removed, including those separating the building from the rear wing, leaving five exposed cross beams. A large stone stack is located at the west end, and a smaller fireplace is at the east end. The original slate flagged floor has been covered with boarding. A modern metal staircase provides access to the upper floor.
