Description
Tan-y-fron is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one, originally part of a row of three. The building features rubble granite walls, large stone lintels, and a small slate roof. It is two stories high with two-window elevations that include 12-pane hornless sash windows and ledged doors, with a 6-pane overlight above the door on the right cottage. At the right end, there are pebbledashed stacks topped with two yellow clay crested pots. One of the cottages has a stone outshut at the rear.
The cottages were originally designed as single-unit plans. Cottage No. 1 includes a cast-iron range located in the rear outshut. Cottage No. 2 has a small boarded partition to the right of the entry, with a stick-baluster staircase directly ahead. The ceilings are open-beamed, and the main room features a cast-iron range on the inner wall, marked 'W Davies Pwllheli', along with a high mantel-shelf and side cupboards.
