Description
Nant Farm is a farmhouse and service wing built with pebbledash and rubble stone, featuring slate shallow-eaved roofs and rendered end-wall chimneys. The two-storey farmhouse has three windows, with hornless sash windows that have 9 panes above and 16 panes below. The central entrance has a battened door with an overlight. The left gable end is made of rubble and includes an outshut with loop-holes. The rear wall features four small-pane sash windows and a stair-light in the center. The right end wall is pebbledashed and has one first-floor window, with an attached service range that has a lower roof. This service range includes a pair of small casement windows under the eaves and a large square window below, divided into 6 x 4-pane lights, arranged 3 over 3. There are boarded doors on the right and the rear wall, and rubble stone walls surround the forecourt.
Inside, all main rooms are equipped with good 19th-century cast-iron fire-grates, and there is a very large timber over-mantel. At the rear, the dairy and larder feature wooden partitions with barred ventilators and slate cooling slabs. The kitchen has quarry-tiled floors and a timber fireplace bressummer with a range made by Davies & Jones of Pwllheli.
