Description
Ty'n-y-mynydd is a cottage with an attached former byre, built from rubble stone and featuring a renewed slate roof. It stands on massive boulder foundations and is a single storey structure. The cottage is double-fronted, while the former byre has a slightly higher roofline to the left and uphill. There is a single stone stack on the left end of the cottage where it joins the byre roof, complete with stone coping at the junction.
The cottage has a 6-pane sash window on the left, a 20th-century half-glazed door, and a long 20th-century plate glass window on the right. The door jambs have projecting stones, which is a local feature seen in other buildings like Bodernabwy and the barn at Methlem. Slab lintels are present throughout. There is a small window at the ground floor of the right end wall and a narrow loop window to the loft. The former byre on the left has a single 20th-century half-glazed door and a small window to the left. The rear of both the house and the byre each have a 6-pane sash window.
