Description
The revetment to the terrace on the west side of Castle Square is a Grade II listed structure. It is made of coursed dressed stone and features a band of finer tooled stone that is two courses thick. The revetment, which faces Castle Hill, includes shallow intermediate buttresses and consists of two straight sections. The lower section contains public conveniences, which have three boarded doors. Above this, a parapet made of finer tooled stone projects on corbels and has a saddleback coping. The parapet ends on the northwest side with a broad rock-faced pier that faces Castle Ditch.
