Description

Copper Hoppers are the remains of late 18th century copper hoppers and orebins. They are constructed from rubble masonry with rough stone dressings. Some of the bins at the southern end of the range were noted as being roofed on the Francis map of 1828, while most were open to allow access for ore that was tipped down from the road above. The central bin along the range features a wide arched doorway that is offset to the right (south). The walls of this bin have been raised, and a modern lean-to slate roof has been added. The other bins now have modern gates leading to wide openings.
