Description

Ebenezer Chapel is a building made of grey stone at the front, with bathstone dressings, and pebbledashed sides and rear, topped with a slate roof. It features a pedimented 'temple' front adorned with an elaborate finial. The façade includes four Doric pilasters, with the central bay showcasing a large round-arched window with paired lights, while the outer bays have smaller single light windows. The ground floor is channelled bathstone with paired entrance doors beneath a pediment, and square-headed windows on either side. A plaque from an earlier chapel on the site reads ‘Ebenezer 1850 MC’. The outer bays of the front are decorated with scrolls flanking the pediment above a three-arched arcade, with tabernacles at the ends. Below this arcade are two windows, and a single window on the ground floor within a bathstone architrave. The outer bay returns, which project as stair turrets, feature two paired windows on each floor in bathstone surrounds. The sides of the chapel consist of four bays, with round-headed windows on the first floor and square-headed windows on the ground floor, which have sash glazing with marginal bars. The gable end to the west has no openings.

To the right of the chapel is an attached gabled school building, which is rendered and also has slate roofs.
