Description
Dronwy is a large L-plan, two-storey farmhouse with lateral chimneys. The older section of the house is located to the south. It features rendered rubble walls and a slate roof with a tiled ridge and gable copings. The main facade has a pair of asymmetrically placed forward wings that rise to full height, each topped with a tall chimney at the gable. The main entrance is located between these wings, and the remnants of a former verandah can still be seen. The entrance has a panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above, and there is a 12-pane sash window above it. Similar 12-pane sash windows are found on the ground and first floors of the gable ends of the wings. To the right, there is a 12-pane French window in a bay.
On the east gable elevation, there is a door offset to the right, which now serves as a 12-pane French window, topped by a central 16-pane window with a cambered brick head, along with a small 4-pane window in the attic. The west gable end features a pair of full-height 4-pane sash windows on the ground floor, a square central window on the first floor, and a smaller attic window above. The rear of the main range has a lateral chimney with offsets, which is partially hidden by a 20th-century lean-to extension. The long rear wing has rubble walls and a slate roof with ridge tiles.
The west elevation, facing the track, has three large square windows on the ground floor and four irregularly spaced and sized windows on the first floor. All these windows have been enlarged and feature grey brick jambs and concrete lintels, with modern frames. The north gable has a modern square window on the first floor. The east elevation has a half-glazed door in the centre, with the original door to the left now blocked to form a window, and a large corbelled lintel that acts as a drip course. To the right, there is a modern window. The first floor has three modern square windows to the left and a blocked window or former door to the right. A modern lean-to kitchen has been constructed in the angle, featuring brick walls and a slate roof.
The interior detail has largely been lost, but the house retains a three-unit plan with an off-centre stair hall in the main block.
