Description
This late 19th-century wellhouse, located by Hen Ysgol, is designed in the Arts and Crafts style. It features raking walls made of snecked masonry, with large stones used as quoins. The wellhouse has slate wall plates and a slate roof that includes advanced eaves and verges supported by an exposed framework of pegged timbers. An inscription carved into the blades of the exposed trusses reads: "PARCHING SUMMER / HATH NO WARRANT / TO CONSUME THIS / CRYSTAL WELL." Additionally, across the tie beam, it states: "In loving memory of Richard Reynolds Rathbone / for the use of the parishioners of Llandegfan / This well and well house were given by his daughter / A D 1899." At the rear of the wellhouse, there is a circular brick well with modern capping. Inside, along the left inner wall, there is a shallow stone trough.
