Description
West Lodge at Plas Newydd is a two-storey building featuring a two-window range. It has a canted bay that projects to the right at the front and a single-storey porchway on the left side. The structure is constructed from snecked rock-faced masonry with limestone dressings and has a hipped slate roof. The roof includes dressed stone stacks, with a rectangular stack at the rear and a lozenge-shaped ashlar stack over a rectangular base on the right side.
The walls are designed with a raking plinth and a moulded cornice, along with a continuous moulded hood band on the lower storey and a sill band for the upper storey windows. The sill band continues as the coping for the added porch parapet. The doorway on the front face of the porch has a chamfered surround and a shaped head, with the Anglesey Arms set into the parapet above. Throughout the building, there are two-pane sash windows, each with chamfered surrounds.
