Description
Ty'r Allt is a two-storey farmhouse dating from the 18th century. It comprises a three-window main range with a central doorway, the openings being offset to the right. To the left is a lower, two-window block with asymmetrically arranged openings. A single-storey stable is located at the rear, set against the left gable return, with an adjoining pigsty creating a linear range. The building is constructed of rubble masonry and is lime washed. It has a gabled roof covered in small slates, with stone copings and gable stacks; the stack to the left of the main block is larger than the one on the right. The southwest-facing roof has been re-slated using reclaimed Welsh slate. The windows on the main range are slightly recessed and are four-pane sliding sash windows. A modern canted bay with modern glazing is at the right end, and a fixed window is in the fire window position to the left. The block to the left has a glazed French window and first-floor casement windows.
Inside, the kitchen to the left retains a large, slightly cambered bressumer beam over the inglenook fireplace. The house is characterised by a double gable chimney plan and a central entrance and staircase.
