Description
This is a simple vernacular row of four cottages, likely dating from the earlier 19th century. They are single-storied and built of rubble with lime-washed walls, featuring painted ochre margins. The roofs are slate-covered. A projecting gabled bay is visible at The Shop. Windows in the Livingston Inn Cottages have been bricked up. The two cottages at the western end, known as Livingston Inn Cottages, were combined into a single dwelling but are currently closed. The listing recognises the group value of these cottages alongside number 5. The listing applies to both the interior and exterior of the buildings, as is appropriate for their type. The statutory address is Bloom Cottage No 1; The Shop; Livingston Inn Cottages Nos 1 and 2, 4, 4B; 6 and 8 Main Street.
