Description

The Livingston Inn is an 18th-century coaching inn situated on Main Street in Livingston Village. It is a traditional two-storey building constructed of rubble with a gabled form. The roof is slated, and the ground floor windows have been altered. A piended porch is located at the east end, and there is a gabled wing at the rear. Original cornices and fireplaces are visible in the interior.

Attached to the inn are a stable and coach-house complex arranged in an L-plan. These are single-storey structures with a loft, built of rubble, gabled, and with skewed gables. The roof is pantiled, and features elliptical arches.

The inn formerly operated as a coaching inn on the Edinburgh to Glasgow turnpike. It forms a group of buildings with numbers 1 and 2.
