Description
Probably dating from the early 19th century, Auchlyne Bridge over the River Dochart is an impressive bridge constructed of rubble stone, situated a short distance southwest of Auchlyne. The bridge features three wide, segmental-arched spans supported by piers with cutwaters and stepped copings. Concrete reinforcement is present at all bases. It is an important landscape feature and a good example of 19th-century engineering. As noted by Gifford et al. in The Buildings of Scotland - Stirling and Central Scotland (2002), page 186, the bridge is a significant local landmark.
