Description
The Anchorage in Luss is a pair of symmetrical cottages built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from coursed, stugged ashlar and feature chamfered reveals, with advanced bracketed eaves and timber bracketed moulding.
The main elevation has five bays arranged symmetrically, with a three-bay flat-roofed entrance block at the center. This block includes paired herring-bone timber doors, fanlights, and small flanking windows. The outer right features broad gables with bipartite windows.
On the side elevations, there is a gable to the outer right with a window, and bays to the left and right each have a window at the outer ends.
The rear elevation includes a paired wooden porch supported by slender columns, which hold up a timber scalloped pediment, along with flanking windows. The broad gables to the outer right and left also feature bipartite windows at the center.
The cottages have 4-pane timber sash and case windows, as well as horizontal-pane timber sash and case windows in the bipartites. The roof is covered with graded grey slate.
