Description

The Railway Bridge in Policies, Castle Grant, dates from around 1864. It features three arched openings made of tooled granite, with ashlar granite arch rings. The central arch is wider and has a keystone, spanning what was once a railway track. Columnar buttresses are positioned on either side of the central arch, while pilaster strip buttresses flank the outer arches and serve as end piers. The bridge is topped with a crenellated parapet. The overall span of the bridge is approximately 48 feet.
