Description
Mill of Newe is an 18th century building that has been fire damaged and restored. It is an unusual large L-plan mill with two and three storeys, featuring gabled and piended roofs. The mill is partly converted into dwellings and is located to the east of Mill of Newe House at the southern edge of the Newe policies. It includes an integral kiln with a vent topped by an ostrich vane. The exterior is harled and has small openings.
On the south elevation, there is a window high up in the narrow gable on the right, and two horizontal louvered openings near the eaves on the left. The west elevation has a stepped roof and features the Aberdeenshire kiln vent in the lower section on the left.
The replacement windows have a multi-pane glazing pattern, and some sections retain good small early grey slates. The building also has ashlar-coped skews.
