Description
Gigha is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay, symmetrical town house with a rectangular plan and a gabled roof, located at the end of an irregular terrace. The exterior is harled, likely using random rubble, with squared blocks for the quoins and margins, which have plain, chamfered edges.
The principal elevation features regular window placement, with a timber panelled door at the center, topped by a fanlight. The outer left side at ground level shows exposed quoins.
The rear elevation was not visible in 2001, while the north side is obscured by an adjacent building. The south side has a blind gable end.
The house has 8-pane, timber frame, sash and case windows, which are characterized by prominent vertical astragals. The roof is covered with grey slates and has lead flashing, broad, coped gable stacks, and cast-iron rainwater goods. The eaves are overhanging and barge boarded, with a skewputt on the south gable.
The interior was not seen in 2001.
