Description
The Endrick Aqueduct Pipe Bridge, formerly part of the Glasgow Corporation Water Works, was designed by James M Gale in 1865. This structure features a two-span, skew-arched design that includes a small additional flood arch at the southern end. It is constructed from coursed, red bull-faced sandstone, complemented by a polished ashlar parapet and dressings. Notable architectural elements include a rounded string course beneath the parapet, flush ashlar voussoirs, rounded cutwaters, and pilaster buttresses that flank the main arches. At the northern end, there are low walled enclosures on each side that contain sandstone steps leading to an internal valve chamber.
