Description
The Old Manse is a two-storey, three-window house with a main frontage on the south side. It was built in 1821 and designed by William Stirling. The house features a porch and a three-bay extension to the east. A characteristic broad-eaved jerkin head roof treatment tops the building. References include the New Statistical Account volume X, pages 1265 and 282, and Heritors Records. The building was formerly known as Captain Sheriff’s Manse.
