Description
The War Memorial at The Haugh in Dunblane was built around 1925. It is a striking classical monument with a square-plan column, featuring a cavetto moulded base and base course at the plinth. The memorial is constructed from yellow ashlar sandstone and includes bronze panels on the plinth, along with a sword and wreath device on the column. Bronze plaques on the sides of the plinth bear rolls of honour. The inscription on the east side reads, "IN MEMORY OF THOSE OF THIS PARISH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-18," while the west side states, "IN PROUD REMEMBRANCE OF THOSE WHO FELL IN THE WORLD WAR 1939-1945."
