Description
Kilbryde Castle is a baronial mansion originally built in the 17th century and partly remodelled in the 18th century. The building features a large three-storey structure with an attic, constructed from rockfaced snecked red rubble and adorned with yellow ashlar dressings. The architect Andrew Heiton undertook further remodelling in 1877. Inside, there are two notable panelled rooms; one features Corinthian pilasters and the other Ionic pilasters. These rooms appear to be 1877 renovations of 18th-century interiors, incorporating elements from the original designs.
