Description
Argaty is a large Baronial-style house, constructed in phases between the 19th and early 20th centuries. The central section, designed by Stewart & Paterson and built between 1920 and 1923, connects a simple vernacular house to the north and a section dating from around 1840 to the south. A bold circular tower and a western section in the style of D. Bryce were added around 1860. The building suffered fire damage in 2011, and the listing record was updated in 2022 to reflect that the structure remains complete to wallhead but is roofless and internally unfinished. The statutory address is Argaty House.
