1 and 2 Kippen Smiddy, and Kirk House, Rennie's Loan, Kippen

This is a late 18th century range of buildings, originally comprising one 3-bay house and two 2-bay houses. The buildings are harled with painted stone margins. The right-hand, 3-bay section has a central door with chamfered margins, and two windows on the first floor. The left-hand, 2-bay section has a door on its right side and one window on each floor. All windows retain their original glazing. The roofs are slate, with one axial stack and one end stack. To the left is a lower, 2-bay house with a door and one window on each floor, and an end stack. A lower pantiled store is attached to the north, featuring straight skews and a scrolled skewputt at its north end. When originally listed in 1979, the record noted that part of the store belonged to Mrs Rennie and part belonged to Mrs Kerr at The Black Bull. The statutory address and listed building record were revised in 2016, having previously been listed under the name ‘Miss Rennie Back Road’.
